A professorial piece...

This weekend I got to help celebrate the nuptials of my friend S. Not only is S an amazing friend, she was also a great mentor and support system throughout graduate school. She had a small wedding in New England, but wanted to celebrate with her friends out west, and had a post-wedding celebratory picnic out here. Such a fun idea!

S and her husband are a couple of the most brilliant people I know--both successful professors! So, I did a quick cake to bring to their picnic, wanting to show the awesomeness of this newly married couple. Here is my take at two professors getting married! S's background is in bioengineering, so she has a labcoat and goggles on over her wedding dress, and her husband is complete with a lecture pointer and elbow patches. The cake didn't come out as neatly as I wanted--I think I need to be more careful about the temperature of my piping frosting. But overall, I think it came out cute and the happy couple certainly got a laugh out of it!
